Cecilia Oldne has been working with Sula for around 5 years during which time the company entered new markets such as Canada, Belgium and the Middle East, taking the number of exported countries to 20. She has also brought prestigious brands to the portfolio of Sula Selections. Cono Sur of Chile and Trapiche from Argentina have been additions in wine while Remy Martin, Cointreau, Balvenie Single Malt Whisky, Hendrick’s Gin and Sierra Tequila have marked Sula’s entry into the liquor and liqueur business.
Today Sula has become India’s fifth largest wine importer, according to the latest Survey of Top Ten importers 2012 carried out by the Indian Wine Academy in March-April this year.
Many people may not know but Cecilia is a trained Sommelier from Sweden and once was even in-charge of the wines being served at a Nobel Banquet. She is also a wine writer and judge. With ten years of experience in the global wine industry under her gullet she has developed a finely tuned palate for wines and spirits with a huge library of aromas from all over the world.
She has been responsible for the wine list at the newly opened wine bar, Vinoteca by Sula at Worli, Mumbai and has been a regular visitor since its inauguration a couple of months ago, adding more wines and pairing food with wine and looking after journalists and special invitees.
Elated by the promotion, she says "I am thrilled. It is an honour to be appointed the Global Brand Ambassador of a company which is not only pioneering the growth of the wine industry but is doing so in a sustainable manner that benefits the local economy."
Rajeev Samant, CEO-owner of Sula informs delWine, 'Cecilia has represented Sula internationally for five years now and it was just a matter of time before she was appointed as our Global Brand Ambassador. With her passion for wine, knowledge of the industry, involvement in the company's success, drive and warm personality, I could not think of a better Ambassador for the company.'
Here’s to Cecilia!! Cheers.
