Dec 08: After a successful first edition of WineFuture in Rioja in 2009 and following up with another historical edition in Hong Kong 2011, Pancho Campo, President of Chrand Marketing and Events is planning the Virtual Zoom edition on 23-25 February, 2021 with wine star-studded cast of Speakers, writes Subhash Arora who was invited to the Hong Kong edition and was overawed by the quality of Speakers, Tasting and his organisational skills
WineFuture Rioja (2009) was an unprecedented event that germinated in 2009 in Rioja, as a response to the worldwide economic recession which had affected the international wine industry as well. Campo created and executed the rendezvous of the most relevant minds of the international wine industry to analyse the situation and provide ideas, solutions and inspiration for wine professionals suffering consequences to the economic meltdown.
WineFuture Hong Kong (2011)
As the wine industry in 2011 turned to Asia's burgeoning markets, new consumers, and expansion of opportunities WineFuture Hong Kong's wine tastings conducted by Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson MW, Pancho Campo MW and 14 panels (I was a member of one such panels) comprised of some of the most influential people of the wine industry including Francis Ford Coppola, Miguel Torres, James Suckling, Angelo Gaja, Steven Spurrier, Debra Meiburg MW, Jeannie Cho Lee MW, and many professionals in business, production, and media from 70 countries and reaching 3000 participants. The Tastings by Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson and Pancho Campo were memorable.

WineFuture Webinars (2021)
WineFuture2021, the first international virtual conference for wine industry, will be organised on February 23-25. In order to provide immediate interim analyses this Virtual Wine Summit will be preceded by WineFuture Webinars, online sessions in which expert speakers address pressing issues. WineFuture Webinars are free of charge to wine professionals by invitation from its organizers and participating sponsors upon verified request, virtual presentations conducted via Zoom with leading names of the world's wine business. They are conducted at 5:30 or 6 Pm CET to be streamed at the comfortable post-dinner time of 10 pm or 1030 pm in India and can be enjoyed over a glass of wine by aficionados. Day 1 of WineFuture 2021 on February 23, starting at 3:30 pm CET (8:00 pm IST) will address important challenges affecting the wine industry worldwide today.
Day 2 of WineFuture 2021 on February 24 will focus upon solutions and strategies the wine industry can implement to overcome its challenges, improving its marketing and communications to drive sales.
Day 3 of WineFuture2021 on February 25 is when the ‘Wine World Looks to Its Future’ as those from ancillary and other industries and international leaders share their strategies alongside the noted wine professionals.

Organisers
WineFuture is the brainchild of Pancho Campo, recognised as the first Master of Wine in Spain. Besides managing several sporting events and music concerts with international Rock Stars Campo who captained the Spanish Tennis Team at Olympics, has successfully organised several summits and conferences with important world leaders, celebrities and Nobel Prize winners including: US President Barack Obama, US Vice-President Al Gore, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, and film director Francis Ford Coppola amongst other notables. Arora attended the Hong Kong edition and found it to be excellent, just like the 2009 Bordeaux vintage tasted by Robert Parker. The World Conference on Climate Change & Wine, and as co-organizers of Climate Change Leadership Porto 2018 and 2019 Chrand has had 30 years of experience in managing such events.
For this edition, Pancho works with David Furer, an internationally recognized communicator, marketer, and event organiser working since 1991 with the world's most recognised and far flung wine-producing locales. His Articles appear in the US, British, and French drinks media outlets. He has authored and contributed to several wine books.
