Encouraging Response for ProWine Mumbai on 17-18 November

Aug 24: The maiden edition of ProWine Mumbai 2021, the latest addition to the ProWein World family, has seen encouraging response from the industry with participation from both the Indian and Multinational brands including importers of allied accessories, participating at the 2-day event on 17-18 November at St Regis, a 5-star hotel in Lower Parel Mumbai, writes Subhash Arora

This follows two earlier successful events in 2018 and 2019 as the ProWein Education Campaign in Mumbai. The hallmark of both these events was a series of Masterclasses, tastings and seminars attended by about 400 delegates.

Organised by Messe Düsseldorf India and All Things Nice – a wine, spirits and luxury marketing consulting and events company, the Prowein Education Campaign is now being extended to include ProWine Mumbai as a fully-fledged trade fair with a comprehensive conference programme.

The two-day programme at ProWine Mumbai 2021 is expected to be the leading international event in the Wine, Spirits and the allied industry in India. It will bring together exhibitors from International & Indian wine and spirit companies and will showcase masterclasses by leading industry speakers and experts.

The London- headquartered global institution WSET providing education and accreditation around wine and spirits, which has been supporting ProWine in the previous Campaigns in Mumbai in 2018 & 2019, will support the event again, as a Global Academic Partner.

Masterclasses will be curated and held concurrently with the exhibition by renowned industry experts. Please stay tuned for more details or visit www.prowine.in as they are announced.

There will also be a networking evening for the trade, attended by HORECA, trade media, the wine and spirits trade and a consumer tasting evening for both days. They will take place in the after-exhibition hours and will create an opportunity for the industry stakeholders to directly network and take the discussions forward.  On November 17 the Networking Evening will see key members of the HORECA, Wine and Spirits Trade including Media in attendance. Select consumers will be invited on the evening of 18 November. Both these evenings will be on an invite- basis.

Over the past months several international events had to be cancelled or postponed globally.  Summarising the current development in Covid-19 and its variants, Bastian Mingers, Director ProWein reflects, ‘Any trade fair we can offer means a spark of hope for the industry. We handle the situation very responsibly and strictly comply with all the rules so as to guarantee the highest degree of safety possible.’

After being obliged to cancel ProWein 2020 last year, Messe Düsseldorf, organisers of the Show had re-designed ProWein 2021 to make it Corona safe, with several precautions in place, including extending the Show from 3 days to 5 days on 19-23 March, 2021 but eventually that Show had also been cancelled, with the second Corona wave imminent.

The flagship ProWein will thus be held after an unprecedented gap of 2 years, with no Shows in 2020 and 2021 which was cancelled after careful deliberations.
