Nov 22: As the World Bulk Wine Exhibition gets ready to celebrate its 10th anniversary at RAI Amsterdam on November 26-27, the two- day Exhibition has announced its entry into the lucrative market of China by hosting the similar Exhibition in Yantai (Shandong) on May 30-31, in an effort to help China become world’s biggest wine buyer, writes Subhash Arora who has been judging and visiting the wine show for many years
Yantai (Shandong), known as China’s City of Wine and the country’s most important port of entry for bulk wine, will host the next trade fair organized by the World Bulk Wine Exhibition.] on May 30-31, 2019.
“China is right now the fifth wine importer worldwide and has the potential to become the top global bulk wine operator. 82% of the bulk wine that is exported to China every year is through the province of Shandong whereas 96% of such wines come via the port of Yantai, according to the figures released by the Chinese government. This makes the city extremely important for the bulk wine sector.
