Wine Paris International Exhibition debuts in 50 days on Feb 11-13

Dec 24: Vinisud and VinoVision Paris have joined hands together with various French Marketing Boards to ring in WINE PARIS bringing together 2,000 wine growers and producers and showcase different regions with diverse terroirs on February 11-13, 2019 when 25,000 buyers and influencers including journalists with over a third being expats, are expected in Paris for this first-time exhibition to taste the presentation of the 2018 vintage

About 25,000 visitors are expected to attend, over a third being international. "Wine Paris takes its roots in the heart of the terroirs and will allow buyers to rediscover the specificities of each vineyard within a 100% business event at a key moment in the purchase schedules." says Fabrice Rieu, President of Vinisud.

"The world of trade shows has changed considerably, the choice of a large gathering in Paris in a collective approach has become necessary to meet the demand of our French and international customers." Says Pierre Clément, President of VinoVision, Paris. With 5.32 million hL of wine consumed in 2017, the equivalent of 709 million bottles (59 million cases) makes Paris the world’s leading wine consumer capital, according to the organisers.

WINE PARIS is not only teeming with tastings, conferences and masterclasses but also offers a collection of off-site events in the city allowing professionals to meet in the evenings at exclusive events, and wine lovers to join in WINE PARIS celebrations.

 ON  ground Events

ViniSud has organised a Free-pour tasting area offering a glimpse of the diversity of Mediterranean wine regions where over 2,500 wines can be tasted at your leisure without any interaction with the producers. Focus is on sustainable and ethically responsible wines- organic, biodynamic, natural, vegan.  There is also a Boxed wine pavilion in conjunction with Vitisphere.

VinoVision Paris has designed 3 feature areas the heart of the show to give an insight into the latest consumer trends and have you jump into the wealth and diversity of these wine growing regions. Visit Tasting Venue, where you can select and taste wines at your leisure. The Tasting Avenue area is reserved exclusively for professional visitors to VinoVision Paris and has direct links to a mobile website, making it easier for visitors to connect to exhibitors from the regions organising the event- the trade associations for the Loire Valley (Inter-Loire), Bourgogne (BIVB), Centre-Loire (BIVC) and Alsace and the Union of Winegrowers in Champagne (SGV).

Wine Mosaic is developing an area that highlights the rich viticultural, cultural and culinary heritage  of the Mediterranean. There will be non-stop tasting of unique grape varieties from the Mediterranean and the South and  there will be“Talk and Taste” sessions with wine growers.

La Nouvelle Vague will be a pavilion showcasing the wine industry’s young players, both wine growers and start-ups with the single objective of giving a boost to winegrowers and entrepreneurs who are embarking on the adventure. They must be less than 5 years in the industry seniority. Winegrowers must have a maximum  of 3rd vintage of a domain created, purchased or taken over after 2015. There will be a maximum 2 participations.  For brand creators- production must be less than 50,000 bottles.

Besides there will be over 30 Masterclasses curated by French and international wine experts to get an insider's view of Mediterranean and cool climate wines.

Off Exhibition activities

There will also be several activities outside the exhibition grounds during the 3 days of Paris Wine, of great interest to many visitors.

Loire Valley wines

Loire Valley Wines present on February 12 at 7 pm an unforgettable wine tasting experience aboard a cruise, on the most beautiful avenue in Paris, River Seine,  where one can  spend happy hour amidst the city’s iconic monuments, sipping the fresh, fruity, and friendly wines from the most diverse wine region  of France. This is unfortunately reserved for press and trade only and requires pre-Registration.

Cercle Femme de Vin- Wines by women of France

‘Cercle Femme de Vin’ will showcase a wine collection made by women winemakers. This event is dedicated to business and professionals, on February 11 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Espace Europe from 6pm to 10pm. The tasting will take visitors on a journey through the vineyards of France on a thematic itinerary- from bubbly and lively to full-bodied and sweet, the event will showcase powerful and surprising wines from a diverse range of geographies and producers.

Le Cercle Femmes de Vin (The Women’s Wine Circle).was founded as an association 10 years ago by several women winemakers. Today, there are more than 200 producers spread across the ten major French wine regions that share values of education, collaboration, and mutual support.

If you are a wine importer based in the United States, United Kingdom, Benelux, Scandinavia or Asia and you import more than 500,000 bottles / year, they also have an International Hosted Buyer programme for you. It should attract serious wine lovers and importers from India interested in French wines.

The Show has the additional charm of being in Paris-for the first time world’s epicentre of wine. If you find it exciting to visit, check out www.wineparis.com to know more details including the List of current participants. A word of caution thought-the vast majority of exhibitors are from French industry though there will be some participation from producers from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Austria along with Chile, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand, according to the exhibition’s website. Based on the pleasant experience of visiting Vinisud, it is quite certain the Show will be very successful and perhaps will compete directly with the Biennial Vinexpo which follows soon, a month earlier than usual, on 13-16 May, 2019.
