Chandon India debuts Delice with a Silver at CCWWC
Chandon Delice is a sweet white variant-a blend of 60% Moscato, 30% Chenin Blanc and the balance 10% Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano). The sugar level of 38 gms/Liter makes it a sweet but delicious wine (Ostensibly, this is not why it is called Delice). Crafted perhaps as a dessert wine, we would also recommend ita wine with hot, spicy Indian food. One could even try to experiment making it in the Moet Ice Impérial style somewhat by adding 6 small ice cubes to chill it further and reduce the sweetness (purists might ridicule the idea, but that should never stop one from experimenting).
Chandon NV Rosé is of course, the delicious but relatively expensive workhorse bubbly, launched in 2013 at a price of Rs. 1400 with the price jacked up to Rs. 2500 a few years later with chic packaging and supposedly better liquid inside. Last year only Chandon NV Brut brought home a Silver.

Chandon India were the first Indian Sparkling wines to win medals in 2017 in the only competition in the world that judges annually only champagnes and sparkling wines, since 2014, with Champagne specialist Tom Stevenson assisted by world authorities Essi Avellan MW and late Dr. Tony Jorda who has been now substituted by George Markus who is not only leading Champagne expert from Hungary but second only to Essi when it comes to naturally gifted Champagne tasters. The quality of judging is unassailable for the bubblies, a reason why many of the top Champagne labels and sparklers from other countries like Italy and India participate.

Chandon Delice aims to break the code for sparkling wines in India, The colour of the bottle is blue and florescent orange packaging. We are telling everyone to have the Delice in tumblers and with a fruit and the wine also absorbs the taste of the fruit making it almost like a cocktail and the cocktail culture too is picking up in the country. Hence bringing in a new culture altogether in the presence of a new variant in the industry, Chandon Delice can transform the wine market of India.
