‘This move reinforces Sula’s commitment to bringing the finest Indian wines to a broader audience through this channel,’ says Rajeev Samant, Founder CEO of Sula Vineyards which has taken steps to further premiumisation of its portfolio, anticipating the demand from its customers.
Sula has divided its premium to super premium wine portfolio into 4 categories- Sula, Dindori, The Source and RĀSĀ. Introducing one label from the entire range of premium wines- Sula Riesling, Dindori Reserve Shiraz, The Source Grenache Rosé and RĀSĀ Syrah will ensure that our officers will have access to the elite range of Sula premium and super premium wines.
This reflects the sophistication achieved in the drinking habits of the officers in our Defence Services over the years. Earlier, only the cheaper labels were generally available at CSD canteens, based on the demand. Canteen Stores Department (CSD) is the collective body responsible for purchasing the entire requirement of a range of household products including beverages for the active and retired personnel of our armed forces, and perhaps the biggest collective buyer. These products are supplied through ‘Canteens’ spread all over India.

As the CSD solidifies its role in India’s growing wine market, Sula remains at the forefront of this transformation, leading in both listings as well as supplies. CSD wine sales have grown by 40% over the past two years. This new addition increases Sula’s portfolio to nine labels.
The first shipment was dispatched in March 2025, setting the stage for a strong performance in the current Financial Year 2025-26.
The first phase of supply has already commenced across key CSD depots, ensuring availability to a growing base of wine consumers within the armed forces community. ‘Additionally, we are planning tasting sessions at select depots to further engage and educate consumers on these premium offerings,’ confirms Rajeev Samant as he adds,’ we remain committed to offering exceptional value while strengthening our leadership in India’s premium wine segment.’
