Wine India Moves: Gorakh Gaikwad to replace Karan Vasani as COO of Sula Vineyards
Dec 14: Gorakh Gaikwad, Vice President of Sula Vineyards, currently the winery-in charge of Bangalore winery that was purchased from Heritage Winery in 2017, has been made the Chief Operation Officer (COO) of the Company, with effect from 21st December, replacing the outgoing COO, Karan Vasani, reports Subhash Arora.
Gorakh Gaikwad has been with Sula since September 2008 in various capacities, starting as winemaker, reporting to Chief winemaker, Karan Vasani, before shifting to head the Karnataka winery now referred to as the Domaine Chandon.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from University of Pune and a post graduate diploma in Industrial Fermentation and Alcohol technology from VSI. He has previously worked with different wineries in various capacities. He played a key role in establishing Sula winery in Karnataka from scratch.
His passion and expertise have contributed significantly to the success and growth of the Company in the wine industry, according to Rajeev Samant, Founder CEO of the Sula Group. Gorakh will report to Rajeev.
Karan who resigned as the COO of the company, will relinquish his charge before or on 25 December, 2024 which will be his last working day.
